I just came across an article in mic.com that suggests that learning new words is just as good as or better than sex, drugs and gambling.
Well…that explains a lot!
A little something about me…
I was known as a pretty liberal and wild young woman in my early years. I loved sex, dabbled in drugs, and was a problem gambler. That was long before I pursued my interest in writing. These days, I’d rather put my energy into learning the craft of writing. I have a quick link to dictionary.com and thesaurus.com. Hmmm.
My husband just smacked his forhead and is now forbidding me to write one more word.
Seriously though…take a look at this study. I’m curious to know if learning English has replaced some other pleasurable activities in your life? Does it explain things for you as well?

This makes sense to me. My brain’s reward center was well-stimulated by learning two foreign languages including three dialects of one. Love learning new words, ideas and ways of communicating.
